From the producers: Like a comet that burns too brightly to last, Janis exploded onto the scene in 1967 and reigned as the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll for three incredible years. The unmistakable voice, filled with raw emotion and tinged with Southern Comfort, made her a must-see headliner from Monterey to Woodstock.
Cast Note: On Wednesday and Saturday matinees, the role of Janis Joplin is played by understudy Kacee Clanton.
"A Night With Janis Joplin" arrived on Broadway after successful runs at regional theaters across the country. While the NYC reviews were mixed, he LA Times called it an "electrifying concert musical" and the Washington Post said "this concert-as-theater achieves the exhilarating effect it desires."
