NYC critics were not very enthusiastic about this one, but judging from our user reviews (link below) and audience reaction at the performance we attended, ticket buyers are finding much to admire. Critics and audiences seem to agree that James Barbour, in the central role of Sydney Carton ("it is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done"), gives a memorable, heartfelt performance.
The adaptation is faithful and the story-telling is clear (no mean feat given the complexity of the plot), so the show should be accessible to kids over 10.
