Huck Finn drifts back through the civilized territories of Broadway in a production which features extensive use of American Sign Language.
Closing date at the American Airlines: September 21, 2003.
Signing and singing coexist side-by-side in this highly unusual show. Almost to a pen, the New York critics were entranced by the art of singing a song with the art of sign language, but they simultaneously noted that the show itself wasn't exactly boffo material.
Much like its original production, this Big River is a sentimental journey down Twain's old muddy, low on spectacle (there's no orchestra, just a six-piece country band) but big on heart.
