Desperate to save the business, Charlie meets a drag entertainer (the fabulous Lola) in need of some sturdy stilettos. The unlikely pair team up to turn the factory around, and discover they have more in common than either dreamed possible. Based on the 2005 British film of the same title, "Kinky Boots" was adapted for the stage by Broadway veteran Harvey Fierstein and newcomer Cyndi Lauper. Lauper's catchy songs were praised universally. Stark Sands, a 2007 Tony-nominee for the powerful war drama "Journey's End," plays Charlie, and Broadway veteran Billy Porter will play Lola.
