A new musical from Elton John based on Anne Rice's vampire stories. 2 Tony Award nominations
Closing Performance at the Palace Theatre: May 28, 2006
It's arguably the ultimate alternative lifestyle, and this adaptation of Anne Rice's Lestat saga by vampy pop legend Elton John certainly isn't for the youngest ones. A lonely vampire seeks companionship, and, not incidentally, blood. He travels, he makes friends, he seeks the ultimate meaning of his life. It's not the most subtle show in town, and the critics were very harsh, but if you're looking for a lavish costume drama with some real hummable tunes to boot, this might be a good pick.
It's a bit like Aida, except with a lot of gay vampires.
(Hey, we calls them as we sees them.)
To be admitted, everyone must have a ticket, no matter how many years (or centuries) old you are.
