This is undoubtedly the season's main event, and thanks to the fact that it didn't exactly garner critical laurels (or even hearty handshakes), you might be able to pony up less to book your seats. In the glitziest entertainment to grace Gotham since Liberace dined alone, Mel Brooks and director/choreographer Susan Stroman have assembled a bright, star-spangled and shamelessly expensive adaptation of his classic horror sendup in one of Broadway's largest houses, just a stone's throw from Times Square.
Choosing the right Broadway show for your group can be a difficult task - it's not exactly a one-size-fits-all proposition, and every show in town spends millions attempting to convince you that their show is be-all-and-end-all, perfect for anyone who can cadge the price of admission. That said, if you're looking for a big, new, broadly appealing musical, this is still a very good pick.
