From the production's press office:
This legendary drama is based on the fascinating, true story of English Chancellor Sir Thomas More and his moral objection to King Henry VIII's plan to leave the Catholic Church. An enduring exploration of politics, religion, and power, A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS is a moving story about one man's fight for his beliefs and the price he must pay for his convictions.
Interesting side note: This is the first Broadway revival of the play. It originated as a radio drama for the BBC in 1954, and was then expanded for the stage and first produced in London in 1960, before finding its way to Broadway in 1962.
Official Opening Night: October 7, 2008
