Well, the reviews are in and young Mr. Radcliffe has acquitted himself very, very well. By all accounts, he gives a strong performance as the disturbed stable boy who blinds six horses (a role which requires him to play a 7-minute scene in Act II stark naked), as does the dependable stage veteran Richard Griffiths as the psychiatrist who tries to sort out the religious and/or sexual mystery behind the attacks.
The play itself, however, did not fare so well, with many critics finding it dated. This is the first Broadway revival of the 1975 Tony Award winner for Best Play, and perhaps we now have a better sense why.
For mature audiences (mature themes, nudity). May be inappropriate for 16 and under. Children under the age of 4 are not permitted in the theatre.
Repeating - this is not a show for children. Even if your kid is a big Harry Potter fan, this is not a good choice. Not even close.
