God of Carnage Running since February 2009 Dylan Baker, Jeff Daniels, Lucy Liu, and Janet McTeer star in a new play by Yasmina Reza, author of the hit play "Art." According to the production's press office, the play revolves around "the aftermath of a playground altercation between two boys and what happens when their parents meet to talk about it." From this seemingly minor event, Ms. Reza creates a serious (but very, very funny) play about the savage tendencies that lurk just below the surface in even the most civilized human societies. In general, the NYC critics loved this show. Bloomberg's John Simon was among the most enthusiastic, saying the "perfect acting ensemble, brilliantly directed, provides marvels of demeanor and delivery, its precision timing and onstage deployment yielding sidesplitting returns."
