New in 2008 In one of the most unusual productions ever to grace a Broadway stage, Slava and his cohorts bring their snow machine and theatrical magic to the Helen Hayes for the holidays.
Closing Performance at the Helen Hayes: January 4, 2009
From the production's press office:
The award-winning, internationally acclaimed Slava's Snowshow melds unbridled hilarity -- and unexpected poignancy -- with stunning spectacle and awe-inspiring visuals. It culminates in a stunning coup de theatre – a joyous, swirling snowstorm that sweeps across the stage, filling the theatre and engulfing the audience. London's Sunday Express said "This is the single most beautiful thing I have ever seen in a theatre in my life."
This production has toured around the world, and played Off-Broadway's Union Square Theatre (where it won the Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience) for several years.
Tips for the Snowshow-goers - The forecast is for smoke and fog effects, occasional loud music, brief showers, high winds and plenty of snow. Skies will be clear at first with clowns increasing, becoming more mischievous later in the show. Conditions are not recommended for children under 8. Please note that children under the age of 2 are not permitted in the theatre.
