This small-cast, high-energy, tongue-in-cheek adaptation of Hitchcock's 1935 thriller transferred from the American Airlines Theater to the Cort Theatre a few months ago, and recently moved again to a more hospitable venue in the heart of the theater district.
You can expect easy laughs aplenty as the 4-person ensemble attempts to adapt the epic film for the stage...in the process, 2 of the actors take on dozens of small roles, sometimes swithing from character to character in split-second costume changes.
Here's a video montage from the production - uninspired choice of background music, but a good intro to the look and feel of the show:
2008 Tony Awards: Best Lighting Design of a Play, Best Sound Design of a Play. 2007-2008 Drama Desk Awards: Unique Theatrical Experience, Outstanding Lighting Design.
