The Anarchist on Broadway: Show Times and Tickets
Running since November 2012
Patti LuPone and Debra Winger star in the world premiere of a two-woman drama set in a federal penitentiary, written and directed by David Mamet.

The Broadway production of The Anarchist closed December 16, 2012. For current Broadway show listings and tickets, please click here.

According to press notes, "in this explosive new play, one woman has been put away for life and the other is making sure she stays there. Watch the sparks fly as two-time Tony-winner Patti LuPone goes head-to-head with three-time Oscar-nominee Debra Winger, in their most provocative roles yet."

David Mamet won the Pulitzer Prize and received a Tony nomination in 1984 for "Glengarry Glen Ross," his lacerating look a timeshare swindlers which is back on Broadway this fall in a new production starring Al Pacino. Mamet received a second Tony nomination for "Speed-the-Plow," and Oscar nominations for his screenplays for "The Verdict" and "Wag the Dog."

Patti LuPone is one of the grand theatrical divas of her generation. She originated the role of Eva PerĂ³n and won her first Tony for "Evita," and won a second Tony in 2008 for her portrayal of Mama Rose in "Gypsy."

Film star Debra Winger received Oscar nominations for "An Officer and a Gentleman," "Terms of Endearment," and "Shadowlands." She will be making her Broadway debut in "The Anarchist."
