New in 2007 Pinter's drama about a son's homecoming to working-class London.
Closing Performance at the Cort Theatre: April 13, 2008
Harold Pinter is generally acknowledged to be one of the greatest living playwrights, and this sexually provocative drama was one of the outstanding events of the late 60's on Broadway. Plot: A professor brings his wife home to meet his estranged family, who take a shine to her in very, very disturbing ways.
The tri-state newsprint critical gaggle seemed to think that time had mellowed the charms of the play and softened a few of the edges.
The evening isn't for the tykes, Pinter purists or those looking for lighter fare, but if you're looking for a relatively approachable production of a classic play, it might appeal.
