Director Bob Cline adds a dash of farce to this otherwise bland dish, including slapstick gags from Peter Scolari and Rena Strober; they get the evening’s only big laughs. Besides that, the action is equal parts predictable and absurd, amid an endless parade of one-liners. The only thing Cline and the producers forgot to add is a laugh track.
