There was a time, not too long ago, when Broadway drama consisted of men wearing suits talking to each other about Great Themes. That�s pretty much the action in this new play from Michael Frayn (Copenhagen) about ambition, loyalty and comeuppance in the West German government of a couple decades back. The production has been completely recast with American actors, giving it a very approachable feel, and the espionage elements take a back seat to the familiar dramas of office politics, as a young, treacherous upstart wangles his way into the confidence of the Great Men.

This production is part of a new partnership between England's National Theatre and some Broadway producers - last season they brought Stoppard's Jumpers to the same theatre. As it's highbrow fare for this neck of the woods, look for seats to be generally available.

There are post-show discussions on Wednesday & Thursday nights with familiar faces from the world of politics.
