Here's a list (incomplete, and always a work-in-progress) of upcoming Broadway shows that have venues reserved and preview dates scheduled, but are not yet on sale. Don't bet the bank or build a vacation around any of these - when contemplating anticipated Broadway shows, it is good to remember what they say about the plans of mice and men.
A View From the Bridge - Tony-winner Liev Schreiber and film star Scarlett Johansson (in her Broadway debut) star in a revival of Arthur Miller’s classic about immigrant dockworkers pursuing the American Dream. First preview 12/28/2009. Cort Theatre.
Present Laughter - Roundabout presents a revival of Noel Coward's classic showbiz comedy, starring Victor Garber and directed by Nicholas Martin. First preview 1/2/2010. American Airlines Theatre.
Time Stands Still - Manhattan Theatre Club presents Emmy and Golden Globe winner Laura Linney in a new play by Pulitzer-winning playwright Donald Margulies, directed by Tony-winner Daniel Sullivan. First preview 1/5/2010. Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.
The Miracle Worker - Abigail Breslin (Oscar-nominee for "Little Miss Sunshine") will play Helen Keller and Tony Award nominee Alison Pill (Tony-nominee for "The Lieutenant of Inishmore") will play Annie Sullivan in a revival of William Gibson's classic play. First preview 2/12/2010. Circle in the Square Theatre. A Behanding in Spokane - From Martin McDonagh, the master of dark comedy (ie - "The Pillowman," "The Beauty Queen of Leenane," "The Lieutenant of Inishmore," "The Cripple of Inishmaan"), a play about a con-man searching for a missing hand. First preview 3/4/2010. Schoenfeld Theatre.
Million Dollar Quartet - A new musical about a 1956 recording session organized by Sam Phillips (widely-regarded as the "Father of Rock 'n' Roll") that included Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley. First preview 3/13/2010. Nederlander Theatre.
Promises, Promises - Tony- and Emmy-winner Rob Ashford directs Tony-winner Kristin Chenoweth and "Will & Grace" star Sean Hayes in a new revival of the musical that spawned Dionne Warwick's pop classic "I'll Never Fall in Love Again." First preview 3/28/2010. Broadway Theatre.
La Cage aux Folles - The Menier Chocolate Factory's hit London production will transfer to Broadway....starring Douglas Hodge in his Olivier-winning role as Albin. First preview 4/6/2010. Longacre Theatre.
Collected Stories - Manhattan Theatre Club presents Linda Lavin in Donald Margulies' play about the relationship between two female writers, directed by MTC's longtime artistic director, Lynne Meadow. First preview 4/6/2010. Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.
