Running since: March, 2001 Mel Brooks' long-running adaptation of his movie - an old-fashioned, slightly risqué Broadway musical comedy.
The Broadway production of The Producers closed April 22, 2007. For current Broadway show listings and tickets, please click here.
Two producers hatch a money-making scheme and set out to make the worst show in Broadway history - they fail, the show succeeds, and hilarity reigns. This show has been packing them in since it opened, and everyone leaves grinning broadly.
Truth be told, it’s one of the racier shows on the street, with a couple four letter words, some strange lifestyle choices, and a kickline of dancing SS storm troopers singing the glories of the Third Reich, but it’s nothing that would seem out of place in Blazing Saddles or Young Frankenstein. A great buy for couples from out of town and those seeking an introduction to the grand old tradition of musical comedy that this town does so well.
Casting News: Two things to note. First, Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick aren't in the show anymore. Second, Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick aren't in the show anymore. Tony Danza has also left the show.
May be inappropriate for 10 and under. Children under the age of 4 are not permitted in the theatre.
