A new musical based on the long-running Broadway play tracing the lives of three women over three decades, the show was adapted by the play's author Jack Heifner, has songs by David Kirshenbaum, and will be directed by Tony-winning actress Judith Ivey.

"Vanities, A New Musical," spans the turbulent ’60s through the late ’80s and explores how important friends are as one faces life’s defining moments: growing up, getting older and getting over it.
"Vanities" is a funny and poignant look at three women who discover that, even in 30 years of rapidly changing times, the one thing they can rely on is each other.
Bob Verini of Variety says the musical “May well outshine the three-decade prominence of Heifner‘s original.”
What's Second Stage? Second Stage is a long-running producing organization with a recently redesigned Off-Broadway theater in the heart of the midtown theater distict, and a smaller space (the company's original home) on the Upper Westside. The fare is sometimes a bit racy, but often very approachable...call it quirkiness with an edge. The company sees itself as a 'Second Stage' for plays that don't find an audience on the larger stages, but it's hardly anti-Broadway, and several of its shows have recently made the jump to larger houses across the street.
