A comedy about dating within and without faiths plays the Westside.
Closing Performance at the Westside Theater: April 29, 2007
A thirtyish goy wants to marry a Jewish girl, and a thirtyish Jewish fellow can't find a date, so they decide to join forces. The gentile will find a girl for his friend, but only if his friend will help him find the perfect Jewish girl.
Despite the '1940's movie' feel of the plot, the production has gone over very well, and audiences seem to appreciate the lighthearted take on the old stereotypes.
The Westside is in one of our favorite parts of midtown - a few excellent "date-friendly" restaurants right next door, and a little shop right across the street that specializes in fresh-baked apple pies.
