From the producers:
At an age when most people are discovering what they want to do with their lives, Porter (Topher Grace) has been married and divorced, earned seven figures as a corporate "ninja" and had a nervous breakdown. It's been four years since he's had a job or a date, and he's decided to give life another shot. "Lonely, I’m Not" is a comic journey that follows Porter as he meets an ambitious young businesswoman who is overcoming her own obstacles to emotional success.
Paul Weitz received an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay for "About a Boy," which he co-wrote and co-directed with his brother Chris Weitz. The brothers Weitz also co-directed the hit film "American Pie."
What's Second Stage? Second Stage is a long-running producing organization with a recently redesigned Off-Broadway theater in the heart of the midtown theater distict, and a smaller space (the company's original home) on the Upper West Side. The fare is sometimes a bit racy, but often very approachable...call it quirkiness with an edge. The company sees itself as a 'Second Stage' for plays that don't find an audience on the larger stages, but it's hardly anti-Broadway, and several of its shows have recently made the jump to larger houses across the street.
