Storefront Church on Broadway: Show Times and Tickets
At its home in Chelsea, Atlantic Theater presents a new play written and directed by Pulitzer, Tony, and Oscar winner John Patrick Shanley.

The Off-Broadway production of Storefront Church closed July 1, 2012. For current Off-Broadway show listings and tickets, please click here.

From the producers:

The story concerns a Bronx Borough President who is forced, by the mortgage crisis, into a confrontation with a local minister. The question they confront is one that faces us all. What is the relationship between spiritual experience and social action?

"Storefront Church" is the final installment of the John Patrick Shanley's trilogy "Church And State." The trilogy began with "Doubt," the play that earned Shanley the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award in 2005. Mr. Shanley won an Academy Award in 1988 for his screenplay for "Moonstruck."

The stellar cast of "Storefront Church" is headed by Giancarlo Esposito (Gustavo Fring from TV's "Breaking Bad") as the politician and Ron Cephas Jones as the minister, and will also feature Bob Dishy, Zach Grenier, Jordan Lage, and Tonya Pinkins. You can read a recent NY Times feature on Giancarlo Esposito and "Storefront Church" here.

What's the Atlantic Theater Company? At its home in a converted church on the western edge of Chelsea and a smaller space on West 16th Street, this long-running Off-Broadway group stages plays in the intimate, realistic style developed by its founders, David Mamet and William H. Macy. Several highly-regarded Broadway productions started out here (including ”Spring Awakening”). Earthy yet cosmopolitan. More here.
