TKTS: Discount Broadway Tickets and NYC Theater Tickets

The TKTS booth in Times Square sells day-of-show tickets for Broadway and other New York City theater events at discounts of 25% to 50%. Additional TKTS booths are located at the South Street Seaport (closed due to storm damage) and in downtown Brooklyn. All three TKTS booths are owned and operated by the not-for-profit Theatre Development Fund.
The chart shows availabilities at TKTS for the past week, and, for our subscribers, what is available today. To avoid the lines at TKTS and the uncertainty of same-day buying, consider Broadway shows with discounts available online. The seats for discounted Broadway tickets purchased online are generally side-by-side with those for full-price tickets (perfect example here).

TKTS NYC: Discounted Broadway Tickets and Off Broadway Tickets

Ticket supplies and the list of available shows can vary hour-to-hour, so if your first choice is not available you may want to check back later in the day.
If you're looking for tickets to a non-musical event at the TKTS booth in the theater district, be sure to ask for the "plays" line - it's much shorter than the usual line.
You may notice a few friendly folks near the TKTS booths trying to sell you tickets directly. Here are some tips on how to protect yourself.
