Promises, Promises

I loved Promises, Promises. I thought it was a great vehicle for Kristin Chenoweth's cute quirky style and showed off her voice beautifully. There are some great classic Burt Bacharach songs for her to belt out here in here inimitable style. Sean Hayes is the one who really shines, though. He is hilarious and unique in this role. I can't imagine anyone else playing this role like him. He is instantly likable and believable in his role and has a voice that I don't think that many will be expecting. Their chemistry is undeniable and I would definitely see it again...and will be waiting patiently for the soundtrack. Katie Finneran as Marge Macdougal needs honorable mention as the comely barfly who catches the inebriated Sean Hayes' eye. Absolutely hilarious through her entire time on stage. Plus when you consider that she is currently simultaneously starring in Love, Loss and What I Wore...she's pretty amazing.
