The plot, courtesy of the show's producers: Emma (Rachel Weisz) is married to Robert (Daniel Craig), a publisher, but she has long had an affair with Jerry (Rafe Spall), a literary agent and Robert's best friend. In a brilliant theatrical device, time is regained and the full complexity of their relationships comes to light.
This is the second Broadway appearance for the dashing Daniel Craig. He made his 2009 debut opposite the equally-dashing Hugh Jackman in "A Steady Rain."
Rachel Weisz (who is Mr. Craig's wife) is making her Broadway debut. She received an Academy Award, a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors' Guild award for the 2005 film "The Constant Gardner."
English actor Rafe Spall is also making his Broadway debut. He played the role of writer Yann Martel in the 2012 film "Life of Pi."
Originally produced at London's National Theatre in 1978, "Betrayal" earned Harold Pinter a 1979 Olivier Award for Best New Play and a New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Foreign Play.
