From the producers: Discover the magic of Dr. Seuss’ classic holiday tale as it comes to life on stage. Featuring the hit songs “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas,” The Grinch discovers there’s more to Christmas than he bargained for in this heart-warming holiday classic. Max the Dog narrates as the mean and scheming Grinch, whose heart is “two sizes too small,” decides to steal Christmas away from the holiday-loving Whos. Celebrate the holidays with the show The New York Times calls "100 times better than any bedtime story!"
Lavish sets and costumes, familiar characters, and good music make this a great pick for groups with small children. Good-humored adults along for the ride will probably emerge smiling, and not in that glazed 'Nicholson-in-The-Shining' way that adults usually walk out of kindertheatre. Two time Tony-nominee Gavin Lee ("SpongeBob Squarepants") leads the cast as The Grinch in this year's production.
The 5,000-seat Hulu Theater at MSG is enormous, so ticketholders in the back sections may feel like they're at a Knicks game. (They may actually be closer to the Knicks game in the room next door than to the stage.) If you buy closer to the stage, you'll have an experience that is more similar to seeing the show on Broadway.
