Author and former Vanderbilt professor Dr. Dorothy Marcic created the Off Broadway hit "Sistas the Musical," the longest-running African American musical in New York history. Her first musical "Respect," based on Marcic's book, "RESPECT: Women and Popular Music" (and the genesis for "This One’s for the Girls") has played in over 70 U.S. cities.
