One professional New York actor has at least 5 shots of whiskey and then attempts to perform in a Shakespearean play.
From the producers: The stage is set in a hidden library with over fifteen thousand books. Five professional New York actors meet as members of "The Drunk Shakespeare Society". One of them has at least 5 shots of whiskey and then they overconfidently attempt to perform a major role in a Shakespearean play. Hilarity and mayhem ensues while the four sober actors try and keep the script on track. Every show is different depending on who is drinking...and what they're drinking!
"Drunk Shakespeare" premiered at NYC's Quinn's Bar and Grill in 2014. It received a New York Times Critic's Pick saying "it seems inevitable that all performing will soon be done either plastered or stoned." A streamlined, amped version of Shakespeare, the production features one actor consuming several shots before attempting to perform an abbreviated Shakespeare play with the rest of the cast. Fans of Comedy Central's 'Drunk History" will certainly enjoy this one-of-a kind theatrical experience.
Entry is strictly 21+. "Drunk Shakespeare" encourages drinking (there's a full bar inside The Lounge) and audience participation.Audience Notes from the producers:
We do not condone excessive drinking. Our drunk actors are on a regular rotation system and are carefully monitored at all times. Drinking in moderation can be fun. Drinking to excess can ruin your life. We promote healthy drinking.
