A new play that tells the story of Constance, whose happy life and upper-class black family is splintered by a sudden and tragic accident.
From the producers: Constance thought she had a happy life and a loving husband. Suddenly, a tragic accident splinters her upper-class black family-and forces Constance to face uncomfortable truths about her marriage and herself.
New York-based playwright and screenwriter Chisa Hutchinson's works have won multiple awards including the 2010 GLAAD Award, a Lilly Award in 2010, as well as a Lanford Wilson Award in 2015. She was a cast member of the Neo-Futurists in New York and a staff writer for the Blue Man Group. Hutchinson's play "Somebody's Daughter" was included on the 2017 Kilroys List which includes un-produced plays by female and trans playwrights.
Brenda Pressley stars in the solo play, directed by Jade King Carroll. "Proof of Love" is a monologue piece commissioned by Audible Theater through its Emerging Playwrights fund. The world premiere is the inaugural production to come out of Audible's Emerging Playwright program, which currently includes 25 commissions.
