A Harry Potter parody that follows the lives of the wizard classmates who, unlike Harry and his friends, weren't in the limelight.
From the producers: Some people are born to do great things. Some people change the world. Some people rise from humble beginnings to beat back the forces of darkness in the face of insurmountable odds. This is the story of the people who sit next to those people in class.
"Puffs" is a play that parodies the Harry Potter books by following three of the Hufflepuffs in Harry’s year: Wayne Hopkins, Megan Jones, and Oliver Rivers. The trio forms a strong friendship, and tries to get a magical education (and not last place in the House Cup) as things at Hogwarts get increasingly chaotic. The play premiered at the People’s Improv Theater in 2015, followed by a transfer to Off Broadway's Elektra Theatre before settling in at its current home at New World Stages.
The cast features Langston Belton, Madeleine Bundy, Jessie Cannizzaro, Nick Carillo, A.J. Ditty, Julie Ann Earls, James Fouhey, Andy Miller, Zac Moon, Eleanor Philips and Stephen Stout.
What's New World Stages? New World Stages is a converted complex of movie theaters in midtown, about a block west of the Broadway theater district. Very well-apportioned, with excellent intermission bars and very comfortable seats, the theatres are relatively intimate in size.
