From the producers:The story concerns a Bronx Borough President who is forced, by the mortgage crisis, into a confrontation with a local minister. The question they confront is one that faces us all. What is the relationship between spiritual experience and social action?
"Storefront Church" is the final installment of the John Patrick Shanley's trilogy "Church And State." The trilogy began with "Doubt," the play that earned Shanley the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award in 2005. Mr. Shanley won an Academy Award in 1988 for his screenplay for "Moonstruck."
The stellar cast of "Storefront Church" is headed by Giancarlo Esposito (Gustavo Fring from TV's "Breaking Bad") as the politician and Ron Cephas Jones as the minister, and will also feature Bob Dishy, Zach Grenier, Jordan Lage, and Tonya Pinkins.
